Government of Western Australia Drug and Alcohol Office

Policy, Strategy and Information

The Policy, Strategy and Information Directorate develops and coordinates whole-of-government policies and strategies in conjunction with state and Commonwealth agencies.

Other core functions of the directorate include:

  • whole-of-government co-ordination, planning and reporting
  • monitoring, evaluation and research
  • Aboriginal alcohol and other drugs programs
  • media and communications
  • library and resources services.

A key part of the Directorate's work is the Drug and Alcohol Interagency Strategic Framework for Western Australia 2011-15.

The Framework has been developed to provide broad direction for a whole-of-government response that aims to see fewer people impacted by drug and alcohol use in the Western Australian community.
